Where It All Began
15+ Years of Trusted Care. Founded in 2010, Tertius Carstens started Bonnievale Kennels on the family farm because he saw that local pet owners had nowhere reliable to leave their animals.
The farm is in the Breede River Valley with open space, fresh air, and daily grass playtime for every guest. Leaving your pet is never easy, so we make sure they're busy, comfortable, and looked after properly.

People Who Care
Our team lives onsite and provides 24/7 supervision. They're trained in pet first aid and behaviour, so whether a guest is shy, full of energy, or getting on in years, they get the right kind of attention.

Tertius Carstens
OwnerTertius founded Bonnievale Kennels over 15 years ago and still personally oversees every aspect of the farm. You will often find him out on the grounds, feeding the animals and making sure each guest has a comfortable stay.
Annamarie van de Vyver
Administrative OfficerAnnamarie is your main point of contact for all bookings, enquiries, and day-to-day admin. She makes sure everything runs like clockwork so you can drop off your pet knowing everything is taken care of.
Martin Carstens
Director of Web & Software EngineeringMartin designed and built the Bonnievale Kennels website and online booking system from the ground up. He also manages the technology across the farm, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes.
Our Care Team
Dirk, Blessing, Willem, Lenie & GeraldoThe backbone of Bonnievale Kennels. They keep the grounds in top shape, handle daily feeding routines, clean the kennels, and move pets between their sleeping and play areas. Every guest is looked after with genuine care.
